Design leader, researcher, and educator working at the intersection of design, innovation, and entrepreneurship to build sustainable product/service systems.

As a product design leader, Researcher, and Academic, I'm known for creating systems of design that link products, stakeholders, and users toward meaningful experiences. With over a decade of industry experience, I’ve designed and scaled products and services that've impacted millions and pushed the boundaries of user experience innovation and design leadership through research.

At Meta, I lead and coach a team of designers across enterprise infrastructure and AI. I operate as a player-coach: elevating user experience, setting vision, mentoring execution, and modeling excellence while building hands-on systems that scale.

As a researcher, I engage in system-level problems across extractive industries, focusing on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and equity. I’ve developed my post-extractive design practice, which serves as a pioneering primer that establishes a new domain of inquiry at the intersection of design, the extractive sector, and sustainability transitions.

In Academia, I teach undergraduate design courses at CMU that explore systems thinking, sustainability, and design futures. I also serve as a Design Advisor with MIT GOV/LAB’s, where I co-develop civic innovation frameworks with African governments to repair government-citizen trust. Our work supports policy design that is culturally responsive, data-informed, and rooted in lived experience.

I hold a Ph.D. in Design from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master's in Strategic Design & Management from Parsons School of Design with a minor in Impact Entrepreneurship and a double BA in International Studies and Entrepreneurship from the University of Utah. This combination of design expertise, business acumen, and global perspective informs everything I create.

Leadership Approach

I view leadership as an interactive system focused on resonant relationships through quality interactions. In practice, I emphasize meaningful engagement and understanding of each team member's unique needs, resulting in a nuanced leadership style tailored to each member. This approach strikes a balance between support and autonomy, empowering team members to take ownership of their roles while contributing to the team's overall success. Learn more about my commitment, and my ask to the team. Additionally, my Scalar Leadership Approach, founded on applied research, emphasizes design leadership across the personal, product, team, strategy, and company levels using three strategic and systemic lenses:
Scale Deep: People as interconnected systems, where I aim to improve team culture, team cohesion, and self-empowerment and maturity.
Scale Wide: Problems as transdisciplinary. I prioritize horizontal cross-domain integration, expanding design impact and design currency across cross-functional teams to solve business problems.
Scale Up: Organizations as designable systems. I prioritize vertical hierarchical cascades that influence leaders and policies through design.
This integrated perspective empowers design leaders to drive meaningful changes throughout the organization, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth.
